Roller Recipes

One of my favorite things about using essential oils is that there are so many ways that you can apply them to every day life. One of the most accessible ways to do so is by using rollers, because you can take them with you everywhere you go!

I started off getting a 24-pack of rollers – this was a good option for me because I can make plenty for myself, and also give some as gifts!

Most rollers are 10mL; a small amount of essential oil goes a very long way – you’ll also want to get a carrier oil as well to dilute them. I use sweet almond oil, but you can also use any other carrier such as jojoba oil.

Here are a few recipes that I really love and use almost every day:

Relaxation Blend:
10 drops Peace & Calming, 10 drops Lavender, 10 drops Valor

Why I love it: This blend is a lifesaver! Anytime I’m feeling stressed, or winding down at the end of the day, this blend has an instant calming effect. Peace & Calming is magical, and combining that with Lavender for calming and relaxation, and Valor for emotional regulation and courage makes this my number one go-to.

How to use: Roll onto wrists and behind your ears anytime you need a little relaxation! I sometimes roll this one on my collar bones before bed, too.

Belly Blend:
20 drops Digize, 10 drops Peppermint, 5 drops Citrus Fresh

Why I love it: Simply put, I love this blend because it works! Digize is the oil that sold me on these products, because I experienced first hand instant relief from an upset stomach once I used it. Digize is an oil that doesn’t necessarily taste great, so that’s where this roller blend comes in. I combine Digize with Peppermint, which is great for digestion, minimizing bloating, and reducing nausea. I also put in a few drops of Citrus Fresh because this is a great oil for detoxing.

How to use: Roll directly onto your stomach in a clockwise motion anytime you experience an upset stomach.

Immunity and Wellness Blend:
15 drops Thieves, 10 drops Lemon, 10 drops Frankincense

Why I love it: Thieves is THE oil for boosting your immune system and protecting against illness, so as you find yourself in environments with a lot of people (work, school, etc.), this is a super important oil to have on hand. Young Living has an entire cleaning line based on Thieves, so you know it’s the good stuff! Lemon has strong antibacterial properties, and acts as a detoxifying agent, and Frankincense is an “everything oil”, meaning it is versatile and can be used for everything from immune support to promoting healthy skin.

How to use: Apply, apply, apply! I usually put this one on my wrists and behind my ears, but you can also roll it onto your spine and/or belly if you need it!

Zen Blend:
10 drops Lavender, 10 drops Bergamot, 10 drops Pine

Why I love it: This is quickly becoming my favorite blend. I love this before bed, but especially before and during a yoga practice. Lavender is soothing, while Bergamot is emotionally uplifting (also it smells amazing). I use Pine in this one because it is said to open the respiratory system and promote emotional balance.

How to use: I roll this one behind my ears before a yoga practice, and place some on my feet and ankles as I start to wind down my practice and move into seated postures. This is a great one before bed, too!
